Is Big Walk Crossplay? Yes — How to Join Friends

Yes. Big Walk supports crossplay between Windows, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Friends can join through their platform friends list or with a Join Code.

Checked Aug 20, 2026Windows · Mac · PS5 · Switch 2No public matchmaking

Quick answer: Big Walk supports cross-platform online play across every released platform. It does not offer public matchmaking, so you need to organize a session with people you know and have one person host it.

House House says no other platforms are planned at the time of this check. That means there is currently no Xbox or original Nintendo Switch version to join from.

Join through a friends list

If the host is already on your friends list on the same platform service, their active game should appear in the friend-games menu. The host must start the session and load into the world before guests connect.

The Mac App Store version does not support Game Center integration, so those players must use a Join Code instead.

Join with a Join Code

  1. The host starts a session and loads into the game.
  2. Before starting, the host can find the unique code in the corner of the host menu.
  3. After starting, the host can open the in-game menu and choose Session Details to see it again.
  4. The host shares the code privately with the intended guests.
  5. Each guest enters that code from the join menu.

A new Join Code is generated whenever the host starts a session. Anyone who knows it may try to join, so House House recommends adding a session password—especially if the host is streaming or sharing their screen.

Keep the same host for an ongoing game

The host owns the save and all group progress. When the host ends the session, everyone else is disconnected. To continue from the same point later, the same person must host again using that save.

This is not an account-sync system: choosing a different host means loading that host’s progress, not transferring the previous host’s world.

If a friend cannot connect

Check these in order:

  1. Confirm the host is fully loaded into the world.
  2. Confirm both players have working internet connections.
  3. Compare version numbers: the first two numbers must match; the third may differ.
  4. Check that each device’s system clock is accurate.
  5. Close Big Walk completely on both devices, reopen it, and try again.
